Our History and Objectives
Founded in 1985, ACET has been a pioneer in promoting the interests of consulting engineers in Tanzania. Our association has a rich history of advocating for higher professional, business, and economic standards among our members. We work tirelessly to ensure that consulting engineers in Tanzania have the support they need to provide exceptional services to their clients and the public. Our objectives include setting professional standards, safeguarding ethical conduct, and providing a platform for members to consult and collaborate on matters of professional interest.
Governing Structure and Secretariat
The affairs of ACET are managed by a dedicated Council, which consists of elected members who oversee the organization’s activities and initiatives. Supported by the ACET Secretariat based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, the Council works to implement programs, initiatives, and policies that benefit our members and advance the interests of the consulting engineering profession. With a focus on administration, finance, membership, capacity building, and advocacy, the Secretariat plays a crucial role in supporting the Council and ensuring the smooth functioning of ACET’s operations.
Collaboration and Partnerships
ACET believes in the power of collaboration and partnerships to drive positive change in the consulting engineering industry. We are proud to be affiliated with various professional and business associations, both locally and internationally. Through structured arrangements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), we engage with affiliates and partners to enhance our collective impact and achieve our shared goals. Our partnerships extend to government bodies, regulatory boards, private sector stakeholders, and international organizations, allowing us to influence policy, advocate for our members, and contribute to the sustainable development of the engineering sector in Tanzania.
